Abstract

Interest has a significant influence on learning because if the learning material studied does not match the students' interests, they will not learn as well as they should, since there is no attraction for them. On the contrary, if the learning material attracts students' interest, the lesson becomes easier to learn and remember due to the interest, thus increasing motivation in the teaching and learning activities. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Essentially, this classroom action research is a real activity carried out by teachers to improve the quality of learning in their classes. In brief, CAR begins from the planning stage after a problem is found in the learning process, followed by implementation, evaluation, and reflection. Based on the results of the conducted research, the data from cycle I and cycle II can be presented, showing an increase of 46.304% from cycle I to cycle II. The improvement in Akidah Akhlak learning activities in class XI Science at MAS Al-Washliyah 67 Pematangsiantar includes: (1) The learning process using the Talking Stick method received positive responses from students because it was considered interesting and fun, making students better in learning, (2) Student cooperation in learning was very good.
